I think I´m not the only one who had asked himself when the Great War between Angels, Fallen Angels and Devils endet. Let´s be honest the Timeline in DxD is vague in this Case. But I think with the Release of High School DxD Zero we have some important pointer when it could have been.
Let´s recapitulate what we know so far:
- It has been endet before Sirzechs has been born
- the known Original Holy Swords (Caliburn, Excalibur, Arondight, Durandal, Ascalon and Hauteclere) were created by the God of the Bible, or with his help
- Excalibur was shattered after or roughly at the same Time as God of the Bible died, so it could not be repaired/recreated by him
- Tsufaame Tereaku Leviathan is about 100 years older as Ajuuka and the Daughter of the Original Leviathan
- Lord Gremorys Bishop Heinrich Cornelius Aggrippa died official in 1535 so we know the Evil Pieces whre created before that.
These five are facts. Here some additional assumptions:
- Based on that Tsufaame Tereaku Leviathan is the daughter of the original Leviathan we can say that the Great War ended maximum 160 years before the Devil Civil War.
- It is never said when Excalibur was shattered, and if it was not destroyed in the Time of King Arthur it is totally possible that one of his Descendants of the House Pendragon used it later in the Great War wered it would be destroyed.
- High School DxD Zero plays roughly 500 years before Canon, but it is not said if Sirzechs birth is at that date or the start of the Civil War, which is 60 years later.
- Let´s say High School DxD is playing at the Years the Light Novel was released, so 2008
Based on these facts and assumptions, an approximate period of time is given when the Great War ended.
Depending on when Zero starts (560 or 500 years before Canon), the time period of the end of the Great War is from 1350 to 1410.
Interestingly, this is in the area where the Hundred Years War raged in Europe (1337 to 1453).
Assuming that the three great powers had their main influence in Europe, this fits perfectly.
